i’m sew excited!! i’ve been wanting a serger for a long, long time. lately, every time i’ve sewn i would say “man, i wish i had a serger” while i imagined all the funky things i could make with one. funny thing is, i’ve never actually used one before. until tonight, i had no idea how to use it and it looks sew different from a regular sewing machine. all the parts are more complicated looking and it takes four spools of thread! sew, it’s been sitting on the table for two weeks intimidating the hell out of me and tonight i finally taught myself how to thread it. it took about half an hour and was only mildly frustrating…but then i figured it out and created my first seams, which you see here. then i went on to make an iphone cover, a tie bracelet, and half a scarf (the other half was done already). beautiful! amazing! using the serger is sew much easier than i thought it would be. i don’t know how i lived without one for sew long. i’m an addict already. i can’t wait to see what else i make with it sew stay tuned…

What is a serger? I’m too lazy to google.
a serger is a wonderful, compact, magic machine that sews overlock stitches. an overlock stitch sews over the edge of one or two pieces of cloth for edging, hemming or seaming. usually an overlock sewing machine will cut the edges of the cloth as they are fed through.
Sergers kick ass. They’re pretty much the coolest thing ever. We’ll get you a pic of the hoody soon. Just got back from SD. xoR
