“dust storm” playa hoodie scarf

Friday, August 7th, 2009

"sand storm" hoodie scarfyou asked for it!  some of you who are fans of my hoodie scarves had expressed concern over taking your favorite hoodie to burningman this year.  mostly out of fear of “playafying” it.  well, here’s a great solution!  this hoodie is made from super soft, reclaimed, playa colored fleece.  i made the scarf ends longer than the other designs so that when that dreaded (or excitingly anticipated, depending on your perspective…) dust storm hits, you just wrap it over your nose and tie it tight in the back and viola! you can carry on with whatever mayhem you were up to.  the one pictured has a beautiful turquoise, vibrant burgundy, and brown thread.  i can not garauntee thread colors unless you place a special order which i would be more than happy to accomodate.  click on the photo to see more on my flickr site. these hoodies are being sold for $34 and cost $4.50 to ship.  let me know if you want one!

product shoot on the roof

Friday, March 20th, 2009

tug of war!yesterday, i had another product shoot on the roof of my apartment building.  it’s really nice up there, you can see for miles and miles across the city.  the san francisco buildings, trees, and rooftops make for a nice backdrop for product shots.  to see more highlights, please visit my photographer’s website here.

here’s the latest hoodie…i made two. although i used the same fabrics, they are definitely unique from each other and each is one of a kind! the brown side is the most luxurious of fleece, while the polka dot side is a soft cotton. click the pictures to see more on flickr. i absolutely love this hoodie! you can too…there’s one left. email or tweet me if you’re interested.

this is my friend Rich. he ended up with one of my HoodiE’s from a Bay Area Hooper holiday party we attended in December. i brought it as a white elephant gift, not knowing who would end up with it. for those of you who don’t know, a white elephant gift giving game can be quite upsetting! everyone brings a wrapped, unmarked gift and places it under the tree. they all then draw numbers and take turns opening a gift or steal a gift in numerical order, starting with number one. each gift can only trade hands (be stolen) for a total of three times. the HoodiE was unwrapped and then stolen once before Rich swooped in at the end to make the final steal. he is now the proud owner of a reversible sew is your face! HoodiE. way to go Rich! and he looks damn good in it too.

it’s multi colored stripes on one side and multi colored, sparkly butterflies on the other. it’s really light and cool as opposed to a heavy, furry hoodie. it would be perfect on an overcast, windy but not freezing day (almost everyday in sf!)
